Why did we move away from Ceramic Coatings?

To put it in a nut shell. The market is absolutely FLOODED with “ceramic this, ceramic that”. It honestly got to a point that even a professional was having trouble distinguishing the difference in ceramics. You could easily go to Walmart and pick up 5 different ceramics all claiming the same thing, “they ARE the best brand out there”.

As installers we found the fail rate of ceramics being way too high. No matter how flawlessly you follow protocol there’s always the high chance of failure.  Please don’t get us wrong, we’ve installed ceramic coatings for years! We absolutely love them……for what they are. With our standard it’s always been the best or nothing. We instantly knew when we began the journey of finding our new Vehicle Protective Coating, Modesta was always the goal.

James actually tried two years prior to become an installer. Sadly he was declined. Modesta is a VERY regulated product. It requires a very in-depth vetting process as well as Zoom calls, lots of emails, and a lot of transparency.  So he tried again. Now that Diamond State Car Salon has grown massively in that time. We all know James is the most impatient person on this earth. So to say it was a very worrisome and stressful 3 weeks of meetings would be a huge understatement.  None the less he was approved!

So what is this Modesta?  Well let’s begin with its technical name which is “Glass Coating” this is where it gets confusing.  The reason it’s called this is because when it reaches full cure it hardens like glass. No ceramic on the market does this.  For instance, if you place Modesta and a Ceramic coating in 2 separates Pipettes next to each other, the ceramic will stay liquid. Modesta will become a clear harden material. The curing process requires a Infared Shortwave Curing Lamp. No ceramic requires this process.  If a mistake is made and high spots are left during the cure process we must result to wet sanding to level and smooth the areas out. This is why Modesta is very difficult to install…..As it may be difficult to install, the results are like magic.

With ceramic coatings they can be used universally. For example the same Ceramic you placed on the vehicles paint, you can place on the windows. You can place the same on the wheels, leather, etc. Just because you can place them there doesnt mean they will work there. Modesta has very formulated products for all of vehicles intricate areas.
